Delegates at the Amanah Youth annual convention have been criticised for turning up later than their guests.
Umar Mokhtar Abdullah, a delegate from Negeri Sembilan, said during his speech that this was an embarrassment for the party.
"The Umno Youth representatives turned up at 7.28am but some of our delegates didn’t even show up by 10am.
"What kind of image are you trying to show our partners?" he said.
Umar Mokhtar said such a lackadaisical attitude was to blame for Amanah's "diminished" position within Pakatan Harapan, although the party was now eight years old, and not seen on the same footing as the youth wings of other parties.
"We may be in the government, but our movement is a hard sell out there," he said.
Meanwhile, Selangor delegate Mirzan Majid urged Amanah Youth leaders to frequent mosques to attract support from Malay voters.
He said Amanah Youth must always be close to the voters.
"We must go to the mosques. How can we attract Malay voters if we don't go to the mosques?" asked Mirzan.
Mirzan did not address the fact that the religious authorities in virtually every territory in Malaysia forbid political activities in mosques.
