CHINA "SUFFERS" RECORD GRAIN HARVEST FOR NINE YEARS IN A ROW.

• China’s grain output record high again this year
• China world’s biggest crop producer and consumer  
• produced 695.41 million tonnes of grain in 2023
• China’s grain output has climbed over past two decades
• above 650 million tonnes for last nine years since 2015
• Beijing’s increasing emphasis on food security 
• local govts keep land for farming and improve yields
• Xinjiang over 16% growth in planting area, output in 2023 
• mainly driven by improvement in water-saving agriculture
• Xinjiang could increase crop-sowing 
• as long as it can boost water efficiency

My Comments :

After a long period of scientific research China has begun planting rice (2022) in tidal zones in sea water. 

This is another fantastic achievement by China that has not realised its full potential yet.

"Yuan, the “father of hybrid rice”, once said: “Of the 1.5 billion mu (one mu equates to 0.67 hectares) of saline land in China, seawater rice can be grown on 200 million mu. If every mu produces 300 kilograms of rice, we will have 50 billion more kilograms of rice, enough to feed another 200 million people"

No silly excuses, much less goofs ups. Constantly looking to improve the quality of life for the Chinese people.
