Several government agencies have issued notices warning civil servants against extramarital affairs.
The integrity units of various government bodies appeared to have issued the notices, with some of them posted on social media over the past week.
Among the agencies that posted the notice publicly include the Customs Department, Agriculture Department, and Federal Territories Islamic Department.
Each notice said extramarital affairs that cause problems between husband and wife were a disciplinary offence that tarnished the reputation of the civil service.
Further, the notices stated that for Muslim civil servants, affairs are a syariah offence.
The Agriculture Department’s notice highlighted that enticing a married woman is also a criminal offence, as per Section 498 of the Penal Code.
It is unclear what prompted the issuance of the notices against adultery. - Mkini
