PETALING JAYA: Selangor forensic police have collected samples from the family home of murdered autistic child Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin as the investigation into his death continued.
A forensics unit team and three other policemen in plain clothes were seen arriving at the flat in the Idaman housing estate in Damansara Damai at 4.20, Bernama reported.
Zayn Rayyan’s parents, Zaim Ikhwan and Ismanira Abdul Manaf, were seen arriving at the area before the police team entered their residence.
After nearly 45 minutes in the family’s flat, the three plain-clothed policemen were seen leaving the residential block with two of them carrying four brown paper bags believed to contain samples, while the forensics team carried a black box.
The forensic team left the area at 5pm and the three policemen left separately shortly afterwards.
Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that the police had taken samples from the family’s home, but would not comment further.
He said the police had recorded the statements of 28 more people today, taking the total number of those questioned so far to 48.
Zayn Rayyan, 6, was reported missing at noon on Tuesday. He was found dead the next day near a stream about 200m from his home. - FMT
