Only Shafie has talked about collaboration with Umno, says Asyraf

 

Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said no discussion has been held about Warisan and Sabah Umno working together for the next state election.

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki says only Warisan president Shafie Apdal has said anything about a collaboration between the two parties for the Sabah state election.

Asyraf said Sabah Umno has yet to decide on the matter.

It wasn’t Sabah Umno (that said so), but Shafie.

Sabah Umno has not said anything. We have not decided on anything,” he said when met after the Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia convocation at World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur today.

Shafie was previously reported as saying that Sabah Umno head Bung Moktar Radin had agreed to collaborate in the state election against the ruling coalition, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah.

However, on Dec 14, Sabah Umno deputy chief Rahman Dahlan denied that they would work with Warisan in the coming polls.

Although the Sabah government’s term ends in October 2025, Sabah chief minister Hajiji Noor has said there is a possibility the state election may be held as early as next year. - FMT
