PETALING JAYA: The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has confirmed an incident involving an aircraft on a training flight at the Melaka International Airport this afternoon.
In a statement, CAAM said the nosewheel of a Piper PA-28-181 operated by International Aero Training Academy (IATAC) collapsed upon landing on the runway.
There was one trainee pilot on board and no casualties were reported.
“The aircraft was removed at 3.35pm and towed into the nearby hangar,” said CAAM.
The airport resumed normal operations at 4.12pm.
CAAM said the safety investigation will be conducted by the transport ministry’s Air Accident Investigation Bureau. - FMT
