Sanusi's SDs claim not 'big' enough an issue for PM

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has dismissed PAS election director Muhammad Sanusi Md Noor’s claim that the opposition has sufficient statutory declarations to topple the coalition government.

“Never mind, no need to comment (on the matter)… I am working,” he told reporters.

“If it is a big issue, I will answer,” he added when met at the sidelines of an event in Sepang this morning.

Yesterday, Sanusi, who is also Kedah menteri besar, said “enough SDs” had been collected and that Perikatan Nasional was just biding their time.

The same claim was made by controversial blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin who said the opposition garnered 120 statutory declarations (SDs) through the Dubai Move to topple the coalition government.

Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal has since denied the claim.

Sanusi previously confirmed reports over the Dubai Move, where it was alleged that PN MPs and some from the government bloc met in Dubai to discuss plans to oust the federal government.

Instead of labelling it the Dubai Move, Sanusi called it the “Chow Kit Move”.

“People are labelling (the plot as) the Dubai Move, but it’s really the Chow Kit Move because it was discussed in Kuala Lumpur.

“I think Dubai was just a dummy (decoy) because they (the alleged conspirators) went to Dubai. Lots of people go to Dubai,” Sanusi was reported as saying. - Mkini
