PETALING JAYA: Terengganu menteri besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has hit out at those who have used his image in an investment scam, saying he hopes these irresponsible people will “go to hell”.
He also hopes these “scammers” will face the full brunt of the law, according to a Berita Harian report.
The scam is currently making the rounds on social media.
Samsuri said he had no time to deal with scammers, adding that every time he responded to false claims, another would crop up the following week and the week after that.
“All I can do is to pray that they (scammers) go to hell and for the law to catch them, and for the courts to mete out the heaviest sentence so that they can rot in prison,” he was quoted as saying.
The Kemaman MP said his image had been used by irresponsible parties to promote an investment scheme.
These scammers had also set up a TikTok account with a handle that resembled his name. Samsuri has disassociated himself from the account. - FMT
