MELAKA: The woman whose torso was found in a rubbish bin by a roadside drain in Alor Gajah on Dec 31 is not the reported victim in a disappearance case in Batu Pahat, Johor, and Gemencheh, Negeri Sembilan, say police.
Melaka police chief Zainol Samah said this was confirmed by DNA sample comparisons, as the sample from the body did not match the family members of the earlier victim.
“The DNA sample was sent to the D13 (DNA databank) division of Bukit Aman’s crime investigation department for reference with other reported cases,” Zainol said in a statement.
He said the police were still working to establish the identity of the victim.
It was reported that the body of the woman, believed to be between 20 and 30 years old, was found without her head, hands and feet at Kampung Rimau in Pulau Sebang, Alor Gajah, by the public. - FMT
