Malaysians lose all five semi-final clashes in straight games.

The disappointment was made worse when the two men’s doubles pairs, one women’s doubles pair, a mixed doubles duo and a men’s singles shuttler were eliminated in straight games.
Men’s doubles pair Low Hang Yee-Ng Eng Cheong, who had shown much promise with wins over higher-ranked pairs in previous rounds, lost to Indonesian pair Ali Faathir Rayhan-Devin Arthas Wahyudi 12-21, 12-21 in just 33 minutes.
The other men’s duo comprising Chia Wei Jie-Teo Ee Yi, who also had a good run, lost tamely to new South Korean pair Jin Yong-Lee Jong Min 4-21, 11-21 in 29 minutes.
Women’s doubles pair Ong Xin Yee-Carmen Ting went down 18-21, 13-21 to China’s Cao Zi Han-Bao Li Jing in 49 minutes.
Men’s singles hope Eogene Ewe, who also impressed in earlier rounds by defeating higher-ranked players, failed to get past China’s Hu Zhe An, losing 15-21, 18-21 in a match lasting 45 minutes.
National mixed doubles pair Hoo Pang Ron-Lai Pei Jing were outclassed by South Korean duo Cho Song Hyun-Jeong Na Eun 11-21, 13-21 in just 30 minutes. - FMT
