State education departments say all outdoor activities have been cancelled because of the haze.

The Melaka, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan education departments said students were encouraged to wear face masks, while parents or guardians concerned about their children’s health were allowed to keep them at home, provided they informed the school, Bernama reported.
They said school administrators must continuously monitor the air pollutant index (API) readings from the environment department, and pay special attention to high-risk students.
In separate statements, the departments also advised the public to refer to official channels or the schools for the latest information.
In Pahang, the education department said schools in Kuantan, Rompin and Bentong would open tomorrow, but all outdoor and out-of-classroom activities had been cancelled.
“Any changes will be communicated from time to time through the respective district education offices,” it said in a Facebook post.
Earlier today, the education ministry announced an extension of the deadline for entering marks for several school assessments in the Integrated Education Management System, following disruptions to school sessions and assessment activities because of the haze.
The deadline for entering marks for the end-of-academic session assessment, and examinations has been extended from Nov 21 to Nov 28, while the new deadline for entering marks for the physical, sports and co-curricular assessment is Dec 5 instead of the previous Nov 30. - FMT
