• PETALING JAYA: dentists called for health minister Dzulkefly Ahmad to intervene in the enforcement of a health ministry regulation setting out minimum widths of staircases for clinics situated on the first floor or upper floors of commercial buildings.
• The regulation sets a minimum staircase width of 1.1m from the handrail to the wall on existing dental clinics. The Malaysian Private Dental Practitioners’ Association said it applies not only to first-floor dental clinics but also to all other private clinics situated on upper floors.
• The association said an evacuation drill had demonstrated that a patient could be safely evacuated from a first-floor dental chair to a waiting ambulance despite the staircase width being less than stipulated in the regulation.
• The association accused the ministry’s private medical practice control section of adopting the rule without sufficiently considering the structural limitations of older commercial buildings.
• The association questioned why the regulation was being “unilaterally imposed” by the health ministry as building structural compliance and fire safety requirements were the responsibilities of local authorities and the relevant fire, rescue and safety authorities.
• It said regulations must be implemented “with fairness and sound consideration of the circumstances surrounding existing premises”.

If there is one characteristic of this gomen is the ability to almost every week piss of a segment of the society and particularly the voters.

This week it’s the turn to piss of the dentists. The Ministry of Health has imposed regulations on dental clinics that are located on the upper floors (usually most dental clinics are located on the upper floors.). The new regulation sets a minimum staircase width of 1.1m from the handrail to the wall on existing dental clinics.

Last week this gomen pissed off the Waze users. This week the Dentists.

Wonder who will be next week.

My Comments:

The village idiots are in charge.  These are kampong fellers. They dont know anything about anything. Bottom line is it will increase the costs of setting up a private dental clinic. Meaning the costs of dental care will increase. But the village idiots dont care. If they get a toothache maybe they will go to the tepi sungai and do whatever it is they do.

As Norman says last week the dodos pissed off the Waze users. This week they are pissing off the private dentists. And when dental care costs increase the general public (who understands oral hygience and dental care) will get pissed off.

Here is the million Ringgit question: Do these kampong fellers care? It depends on where is their constituency. If their constituency is Parit Busuk or Batang Bengkok  then you can forget it. They dont give a shit.

We have had private dental clinics, private medical clinics and private hospitals in this country since before Merdeka. Everything has been functioning perfectly well. Now they are messing things up. Some of these village idiots maybe first generation users of toothpaste and tootbrushes.

Just Kick Them Out.
