Hasan: I've silenced the Christian missionaries

Jalur Tiga (Jati) president Hasan Ali has claimed that his exposes on the proselytisation of Muslims have silenced a group of Christian missionaries who are allegedly engaged in the act.

He said this includes the decision to show video footage of someone who claimed to have been approached by missionaries, and a nationwide roadshow on the issue.

NONE"After the video, the bishop (Paul Tan) and reverend have backed down. They no longer speak of it (preaching to Muslims)," he said.

Speaking at a breaking of fast event yesterday in Kuala Lumpur with 100 Muslims who allegedly almost fell victim to proselytisation, Hasan (right)said society has realised the dangers and no longer criticises Jati.

In fact, he said, there are no longer "threats" against the NGO which champions Islam, the Malay race and the royal institution, when previously many were made online.

"If you read the blogs, you'd realise that 'top people' used to slam Jati and threaten us, but things have calmed down now," he said.

Anti-apostasy foundation

Hasan, the former Selangor PAS commissioner and state exco, also announced the setting up of an 'anti-apostasy foundation'.

Named Yayasan Murni Akidah (Pure Faith Foundation), this is currently in the process of registration.

azlanIt is spin-off from the Unit Selamatkan Akidah (Faith Restorers Unit) formed when he was the Selangor exco in charge of Islamic affairs.

"Through this foundation, we will present proposals to the authorities which will include policies and its implementations (on the Islamic faith)," he said.

He added that the foundation, which has the support of professionals, will work with relevant government agencies and NGOs in curbing the ‘threat’ of Christianisation, which he claimed has reached a critical stage.

Hasan said that Jati will also recruit Muslim preachers who are resilient and competitive, to go head to head with Christian preachers who are now spreading their faith in the interior of the country.
