The former prime minister said the Budget should not only be packaged with exciting goodies for the rakyat but must also carry a value of its own.
“I do not care much about goodies. The important thing is the total value of the budgetary allocations,” he told reporters at the DRB-HICOM Bhd’s Hari Raya Open House here today.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is scheduled to table the 2013 Budget in the Parlimeant on September 28, 2012.
On another note, DRB-HICOM group managing director, Datuk Seri Mohd Khamil Jamil, said the government should introduce a structured mechanism to control raw material prices for the local car industry in the 2013 Budget.
He said the Minimum Wage Bill has made the earning margins of local carmakers, which were currently small, even more uncertain.
“Only through a reasonable production and material costs, the local car sector can experience better margins,” he said. — Bernama
