Women, Family and Community Development Minister Rohani Abdul Karim has refused to respond to a memorandum from a Mongolian delegation which had sought her help to provide answers to the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu.
“In the first place, I was there and I never received any letter. The delegates never approached me,” she said, referring to the Global Summit of Women held in Kuala Lumpur last week.
“The subject has been dealt with. I would not like to comment because for one (reason), they never approached me,” she said.
“The Mongolian delegatation was the largest group that attended the summit. We welcome them. We want them to see that Malaysia is not, you see, what and how some people have painted us."
"It is still important to run a new court hearing and find justice," reads the letter.
The group also sought the support of the government and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak for Altantuya's two children, as they are growing up without their mother.
The delegation claimed that it had no avenue to give the letter to the ministry, and that they had done so with the help of the Mongolian Students Association in Malaysia.
