STATE POLLS | Selangor caretaker Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said the coalition government will implement five of its election promises within the first 100 days should it be given another state mandate.
He announced this in a special address today on the eve of six state elections.
The pledges, as listed in the Harapan/BN manifesto are as follows:
1) An annual incentive of RM1,000 for 5,000 working mothers to ease their financial burden in paying for education and nurseries for their children
2) Exemption of assessment fees (cukai pintu) for kampung houses and low-cost housing
3) Book vouchers worth RM200 for 1,000 college students
4) Increase in the monthly allowances for mosque committee leaders (imam, bilal, siak, and nazir), and
5) Incentive of RM1,000 to farmers in the state to cover their expenses including for seeds, fertiliser, and pesticides
Efficient government
Commenting on the pledge, Amirudin said the announcement does not mean Harapan is arrogant or overconfident of winning the state but because he had confidence in the wisdom of Selangorians.
“We realise that to elevate the status of Selangor and its people to a higher level, there needs to be an efficient government with a proven track record,” he said.
He urged voters to cast their ballots for Harapan and BN candidates for their own and their children’s sakes.
“The coalition you have voted for has shown excellent performance in the last five years.
“Every vote is precious,” he said in the speech telecast live on Astro Awani’s YouTube page and Amirudin’s official Facebook page. - Mkini
