NEW YORK, November 6. /TASS/. Political leaders of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas have been asked in secret talks with Israel to release all hostages in the Gaza Strip and put those involved in war crimes on trial in exchange for their own lives, Pulitzer Prize-winning American journalist Seymour Hersh said on his Substack blog, citing sources.
"The Hamas political leadership was not involved in the massacre," Hersh quoted an unnamed US official as saying. "And the thought was that if they agree to try their own people and order them executed, they will be given their lives while also exonerating Israel for the war. We’re holding out clemency for the Hamas political leadership - giving them a chance to surrender the hostages and cling to life by moving them to the hospital," the US official told Hersh.
According to the journalist, Israeli authorities want the death penalty for leaders of the movement's armed wing who, according to Hersh, "encouraged and then did nothing to stop the war crimes of their fighters."
The leader of the Hamas movement in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, is also directly involved in the secret negotiations for the hostages' release. According to Hersh, Sinwar is open to a deal. "The concept of an Israeli-instigated war-crimes tribunal amid a bombing campaign that has flattened much of Gaza may seem out of a bad novel but an Israeli expert on the region, who knows of the seriousness of current hostage talks, surprised me by depicting Sinwar as someone ‘who could be open to a deal’," Hersh wrote.
According to the journalist’s unnamed source, Sinwar and others in the Hamas political leadership now in Qatar may want any deal on the hostages to include assurances that Israel will not prosecute them if a deal is reached. "Dedicated to the cause. No family, very religious but got very friendly with Shin Bet [Israeli internal security] guys while in prison and was seen as not irrational. He will want a chance to give service to the cause. He will be open to a door," Hersh quoted the expert as saying.
It is noted that Hamas fighters in Gaza's underground tunnels will soon face shortages of food, water and fresh air, as there is very little fuel left to run the oxygen generators. "The more than two hundred miles (about 320 kilometers - TASS) of tunnels will inevitably become a death trap, making life below ground as difficult as it is above," Hersh wrote. "Hamas must begin to release the hostages," he quoted an unnamed US official as saying.

Ismail Haniyeh, Khaled Meshal and the top Hamas leadership lives in super luxury in Qatar. Over in Gaza the Hamas leaders like Yahya Sinwar and the ground commanders live like rats inside the tunnels and underground hiding places.
Seymour Hersh says Israel wants the Hamas ground commanders in Gaza killed or brought to justice and sentenced to death. No bargaining allowed. They are going to die.

The Hamas leaders living in super luxury in Qatar have agreed. As long as they are left alone to enjoy their luxurious lives. The Hamas leaders in Qatar say they knew nothing about the October 7th attack in southern Israel.
They are washing their hands. Now they are claiming that : Hamas political leadership was not involved in the massacre.
Everyone knows they are lying. That attack was not planned over a weekend. It took years for Hamas to plan the attack on October 7th, 2023. There is no way the Hamas leaders in Qatar did not know about it. They are just lying to save their own necks.
2. Tunnel warfare
The most stupid strategic mistake was the construction of those long, narrow tunnels to fight a war. No army in the world has ever fought a war from inside tunnels. To fight and win a war they need to come out in the open.
Tunnels serve only one purpose - to hide from the enemy. Not to engage with the enemy. Why? Because tunnels are narrow and can only allow one soldier to squeeze through at a time. You cannot carry any heavy weapons inside tunnels. Only light weapons and light ammunition.
The Vietcong built tunnels IN THE JUNGLE to hide from the enemy. But when the time came to fight they went out in battalion strength to face the Americans.
The Hamas used their tunnels as staging posts to attack the Israeli soldiers. This was a bad mistake because the Hamas fighters could only come out of the narrow tunnels a few at a time. No battalion strength or even platoon strength. The moment the Israelis detected the tunnels in the urban environment they either blew them up or bulldozed the tunnel entrances, making them unusable. Now all the weapons, ammunition and hundreds of Hamas fighters are buried inside the narrow tunnels. They will never come out.
But you can be assured that since 2007 (16 years ago) the Hamas leaders (and the Muslim Brotherhood) have made millions of US dollars from the contracts to build those tunnels. Using "aid money" from Qatar, the United Nations, from donations, 'tabung Tin Milo' etc.
The tunnel system in Gaza has completely collapsed in under two weeks.
3. What does this mean?
It means this is the end of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood in Gaza. The Hamas ground commanders and the Hamas fighters in Gaza will die. They are being sacrificed by the Muslim Brotherhood and the Hamas leadership in Qatar. Their houses will be destroyed. Even their families will be killed. For what? So that the Hamas leaders in Qatar can survive and continue living in luxury.
This is also why the Israelis are agreeing to this deal with the Hamas leaders in Qatar. Because it will break up the Hamas permanently.
This is going to divide and break up Hamas permanently. They will also be taking revenge against each other. For years to come the families and friends of those Hamas fighters left to die or sentenced to death in Gaza will take revenge against the others who sold them out. This is bound to happen. Typical Arab style stabbing each other in the back.
After this the Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Ayatollahs in Iran will have to think very carefully about their next moves in the Middle East. The Hezbollah has also built tunnels all over southern Lebanon. The tunnels can quickly become their tombs.
The Israelis have now struck a deal with the Hamas leaders in Qatar. This means they will also allow the Emir of Qatar - who is a strong supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Hamas - to keep his throne on his head. The Emir of Qatar will not be molested.
But Seymour Hersh has not reported anything about the Ayatollahs in Iran being a part of this deal. I think the Ayatollahs in Iran (who have funded Hezbollah and Hamas) will suffer a different fate.
Just wait and see.
