Police are reportedly looking into a BN election pamphlet as part of their probe into Kepala Batas MP Siti Mastura Muhammad over her allegations of a DAP family conspiracy.
Former Umno information chief Isham Jalil (above) said he had been contacted by police over the matter.
"Apparently, Siti Mastura said she got her information from a BN pamphlet which was campaign material," he said in a video posted on Facebook yesterday.
Siti Mastura had alleged, among others, that DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang was cousins with former communist party leader, the late Chin Peng, as well as former Singapore premier, the late Lee Kuan Yew.
This led to police reports being lodged against her.
Siti Mastura had on Tuesday submitted "reference materials" to police when she was called in for questioning.
Then on Thursday, Tasek Gelugor MP Wan Saiful Wan Jan said that the allegations made by Mastura were also made in a BN campaign booklet for the 15th general election.
A former Umno Youth leader, who is now with PAS, meanwhile, said the booklet was distributed to BN members before nomination day for GE15.
Separate entities
Isham pointed out that he was only made Umno information chief after GE15.
He was removed from the post in March this year after a falling-out with Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Isham, who was also a former Selangor BN information chief, also said the Umno information team and the BN communications team - which reportedly produced the pamphlet - were separate entities.
"But I doubt a pamphlet like this was issued by BN," he added.
Regardless, he said he would cooperate with police investigations and advised Siti Mastura to do the same. - Mkini
