Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has rubbished speculation that his health has deteriorated to the point that he needed to resign.
Instead, he clarified that he was recovering well from prostate surgery.
"I did not know I would do such a thing (resign).
"I did have a prostate surgery, all men have prostates.
"Alhamdulillah, I am healthy, thanks to the prayers of all those including those who prayed I would do a thing I had not considered," he told reporters in Putrajaya today.
Zahid was responding to speculation that he was stricken with cancer and would be resigning.
Previously, speculation was rife that Zahid had stage four cancer.
The Umno president was on medical leave around mid-November to undergo the surgery.
He returned to work on Dec 1 to attend a cabinet meeting and also registered for a Digital ID.
