Tiong advises Sanusi to 'watch his words' or risk Kedah losing tourists

Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Tiong King Sing has advised Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor to watch his words to avoid turning away tourists from the northern state with callous remarks.

He also described the PAS election director's recent insults against him as a "political tactic”.

"He (Sanusi) can play politics if he wants. What is important to me is we're not playing that game with him," Tiong (above, right) told reporters in Putrajaya today.

"It's just that if he wants to ask tourists to come to his state (Kedah), most importantly, ask him to watch his words. That's all.

"If he can't watch his words, (and) create unwanted situations, there's no use," said Tiong who cited Sanusi's recent remarks comparing a person's dressing to an animal.

The Bintulu MP said this when asked if he would seek an apology from Sanusi over the Kedah MB’s latest insult against him.

Last Friday, the war of words between Tiong and Sanusi turned ugly with both parties hurling insults against each other.

Tiong at the time accused Sanusi of having "lost his mind", two days after Sanusi accused the PDP lawmaker of looking like a "pot-bellied, bald deity (Buddha)".

Sanusi also previously accused Tiong of mounting a negative campaign against Langkawi.
