Dubai Move: Lokman Adam debunks Raja Petra's 120 SDs claim

Umno supreme council member Lokman Adam has debunked controversial blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin’s claims that the opposition has garnered 120 statutory declarations (SDs) through the Dubai Move to topple the coalition government.

In doing so, Lokman cited several reasons and “holes” to rubbish the claim by the pro-Perikatan Nasional blogger, who’s living in self-imposed exile in the United Kingdom.

“On Jan 5, Raja Petra claimed that the prime ministerial candidate in the Dubai Move was Tok Mat (Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan).

“The very next day, on Jan 6, he said that the Dubai Move put forward three names as the PM candidate - former Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein, Dr Sam (Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar), and Muhyiddin Yassin.

“Raja Petra conned himself (via this statement),” quipped Lokman.

The politician claimed that Raja Petra miscalculated, saying that Sarawak’s GPS - which has 23 MPs - has in many instances rejected the idea of abandoning Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s Madani government.

On top of this, Lokman said Raja Petra’s theory also failed to take into context the reality of Sabah politics.

According to him, there is no way Gabungan Rakyat Sabah and the Shafie Apdal-led Warisan will work together and switch their allegiance to PN.

“It is clear that this theory was created by someone who is from the peninsula, or perhaps someone who lives so far away in London, who does not understand Sabah politics.”

Adding further, Lokman poked holes in Raja Petra’s theory by claiming the incoming Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar won’t allow any attempt to change the government.

This is while the current king, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, has also issued a decree that he wants Anwar as the last prime minister during his reign. - Mkini
