Opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin said Perikatan Nasional members are unaware of the much-talked-about Dubai Move.
According to the Bersatu secretary-general, the alleged scheme to topple the Anwar Ibrahim administration was a "useless slander" conjured up by certain quarters for their own political interests.
"Dubai Move is still circulating on social media. Who started it? Who freaked out? Who lodged a police report?
"Then, who said the opposition does not have the support? Who asked the opposition to bring (no-confidence motion) in Parliament?" Hamzah asked in a statement on Facebook last night.
The Dubai Move plot was first revealed by the Community Communications Department (J-KOM) deputy director Ismail Yusop.
A slew of police reports has been lodged against the alleged plot to topple Anwar.
Following a suggestion by Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Abdul Karim for the opposition to initiate a motion of no-confidence against the premier in Parliament instead of via statutory declarations, Anwar said PN does not have the numbers to do so.
‘Walk the talk’
Elaborating, Hamzah claimed that the rakyat is still awaiting the harmonious life promised by the coalition government.
"Not only the cost of living is going up, but service charges and utilities are also increasing.
"Where is the solution to the pressing problems plaguing the rakyat?" the Larut MP asked.
He urged Anwar to be fair to all and "walk the talk" when it comes to implementing policies promised to the rakyat.
"Do not misinterpret the law, and spook everyone in the country. Friends today can become foes one day, and vice versa.
"Build this nation with sincerity, justice, and determination, and God willing, Malaysia will succeed."
