PETALING JAYA: Umno leader Jamal Yunos has been hospitalised for lung cancer.
It was reported that Jamal has been experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath for several weeks before being admitted to the Prince Court Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur last Tuesday.
The Sungai Besar Umno division chief described his battle with cancer as a “defeat”, saying he has difficulties paying for his treatment and medication, which cost tens of thousands of ringgit.
“I need to receive intensive treatment from doctors at the hospital. Due to the high doses of medication needed, my head spins and floats every time (I take the medication).
“It’s better for doctors and nurses to monitor my condition more closely because the chest pain has worsened lately,” he told the New Straits Times.
In September last year, Jamal was admitted to the same hospital after he collapsed at a Barisan Nasional event, which he attributed to his heavy workload and food poisoning.
Jamal had previously said he had recovered from stage four lung cancer. - FMT
