From the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission
In reference to the article titled “MCMC ordered to ‘preserve’ contractor’s IT equipment pending trial”, published by Free Malaysia Today on July 16, MCMC denies the allegation on the electricity supply issue.
There was no court order or direction on the electricity supply issue against MCMC. After the case management on June 5, MCMC’s solicitors proposed to switch on the electricity supply to the IT infrastructure supplied by Nuemera (M) Sdn Bhd and, accordingly, MCMC took steps to ensure the same.
To date, MCMC has duly complied with all directions and orders from the High Court and will continue to respect the due process of the law. MCMC has refuted the baseless allegations by Nuemera in MCMC’s statement of defence and counterclaim.
As such, all parties involved in the case should wait for the outcome of the civil suit. MCMC has been advised that it is highly improper to comment on issues pending in an ongoing court case.
Parties involved should be cautious not to cause any form of interference with the administration of justice by discussing issues pending for the court’s determination. - FMT
