JOHOR POLLS | PKR Youth chief Kamil Abdul Munim has claimed that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was barred from using a public hall in Muar to meet with the local community recently.
Kamil said the move was puzzling, given that the prime minister has always been accommodating and tolerant towards the Johor state government in resolving various issues.
“From my experience, two weeks ago, when the prime minister came to Sungai Balang in Johor, do you know what happened? The prime minister was denied the use of the Penghulu Complex in Sungai Balang to meet fisherfolk, farmers, educators, and local leaders.
“I want to know whose instruction it was to prevent the prime minister from using the complex. The Johor state government must answer this,” he told reporters in Segamat last night.
He said this at a campaign event to support Pakatan Harapan candidate for the Pemanis, Jalex Lee.

Felda drama
This comes a week after Johor caretaker menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi claimed to have been prevented from entering a Felda settlement.
Both Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Anwar, however, denied there were any instructions barring Onn from Felda areas.

Kamil described the issue as being deliberately exaggerated into another “political drama” to gain support and sympathy ahead of the Johor polls.
“Do not use the Felda issue as yet another political drama to gain support or sympathy in Johor.
“Instead, show what we are offering, what our policies are, and what our economic approach is,” he added. - Mkini
