PETALING JAYA:
Two foreign nationals were arrested yesterday to assist in investigations into the discovery of a baby girl’s body at a waste disposal site in Bangsar.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus said the suspects, a 23-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, were detained near the scene.

“We believe they are involved in this case and investigations are ongoing,” he said after attending an event today, Bernama reported.

He said police received a report from an Alam Flora worker who found the baby’s body.

The baby was estimated to be about seven months old.

Police are investigating the case under Section 318 of the Penal Code which involves secretly burying or otherwise disposing of the body of a child.

On a separate matter, Fadil said the department has recorded statements from four people in a probe into a podcast featuring a former journalist sharing experiences related to a drug seizure.

He said sharing such experiences must be done responsibly so as not to mislead the public or cause distress.

The case is being investigated under Section 505 of the Penal Code (which deals with making, publishing, or circulating statements, rumours or reports that cause public mischief or threaten public tranquillity) and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities. - FMT
