2 found dead on riverbank in Perak

 They were believed to have drowned after swimming in a river near an Orang Asli village.

IPOH:

Two men were found dead on a riverbank after swimming in a river, near Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Tonggang, Tanjung Rambutan, here, today.

Perak fire and rescue department assistant operations director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the two victims were 42 and 50 years old.

He said the department received an emergency call at 2.55pm.

Upon arriving at the location, the firefighters had to trek through a 600m jungle path to reach both victims who were found unconscious on the riverbank.

“The rescue team then brought both victims out from across the river before the medical officers confirmed their deaths at the scene,” he said in a statement.

He said the bodies of both victims had been handed over to the police for further action. - FMT
