KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 — The Ministry of Higher Education has given the nod for Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TARC) to be upgraded to university-college status effective next year, MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek announced today.
Dr Chua also said that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who is also finance minister, will also continue the special funding of TARC.
“This funding will be for capital expenditure and for operations. And next year, we have been told that the government in principle has promised RM56 million,” he told a news conference at the party headquarters here today.
