The public were treated to an extraordinary 'procession' last Saturday night in which 'ghosts' were seen carrying ballot boxes while one of them waved burning incence sticks traditionally used during funerals.
The eery procession was however a street show inspired by local political cartoonist Zunar and his colleagues from the 'Independent Cartoonists Group' formed prior to the general election.
The 'flashmob' which made appearance at the busy Jalan Bukit Bintang, also saw participants holding placards with comic images to illustrate the controversial general election on May 5.
However, the ghosts were not spared by the police, who 'shooed' them away after about an hour on the streets.
Met later, Zunar said the show dubbed 'Sketpos' (protest sketch) was part of a series called Cartoonists Against Electoral Fraud which he launched not long ago.
Allegation of 'phantom voters' and other electoral frauds have been at the centre of protest rallies nationwide following the conclusion of the general election, which saw Barisan Nasional narrowly winning the parliamentary share despite losing popular votes.
