Gov't-owned company to take over AES operators
The two companies that set up and operated the Automated Enforcement System (AES) will now be taken over by a company wholly owned by the government.
Acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said that, to ensure transparency, an independent valuer will be appointed to evaluate the worth of ATES and Beta Tegap Sdn Bhd.
"Under my watch, nobody is going to profit from this," he told a press conference in Putrajaya today amidst concerns of a possible bailout for the two companies.
