National laureate A Samad Said has been urged to surrender to the police to facilitate investigations into the unfurling of the Sang Saka Malaya flag near Dataran Merdeka on Aug 30, the eve of Merdeka Day.
Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar (left)claimed that Samad was "hiding" when police went looking for him last night.
He said this was done after activists Hishamuddin Rais and Adam Adli Abdul Halim were arrested at 8.40pm yesterday in Kampung Baru, to assist investigations under the Sedition Act 1948.
