Nazri's naughty son Nedim buys a RM7.2 MILLION BUNGALOW: But whose money did he use?
KUALA LUMPUR - It looks like the call to Prime Minister Najib Razak to start the fight against corruption by declaring his assets is not a moment too soon. THE WOLF SHOULD LEAD THE PACK: PKR joins Ku Li's call to Najib to declare assets
News that the twenty-something youngest son of Toursim Minister Nazri Aziz is wealthy enough to buy a RM7.2 million bungalow is bound to upset the people, the majority of whom are not able to buy even a moderate link-house due to the sudden runaway property prices.
And to rub salt into the wound, Nazri has denied knowledge of the entire matter. If true, then where did Nedim Nazri get the money to buy such a luxurious home?
"He can buy a palace, it's not my problem," Malaysiakini reported Nazri as saying.
It seems that the minister was initially taken aback by the question, and asked: "What house?"
RM7.2million might be tough even for a Minister to support based on the govt salary-scale
The expose' was made by youth NGO SAMM or Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia.
In a press release, SAMM had emanded an explanation from Nazri as to how Nedim could afford such an acquisition. He was last in the news after his father controversially included him on the Tourism ministry payroll as a special officer.
And while Nazri has clarified that he would be paying his son and not the government, could Nazri afford to give Nedim a remuneration sufficient to support a multi-million ringgit high-end bungalow?
These questions remain unanswered and there is bound to be pressure on Nazri to come clean in the days ahead.
Meanwhile, SAMM coodinator Badrul Hisham Shaharin has said they will will be revealing the location of Nedim's bungalow soon.
