Going blonde: TMJ says it’s his hair, his business

Tunku Ismail tells critics to heed his father’s advice about minding their own business because only God can judge him.

TMJPETALING JAYA: The negative comments the Crown Prince of Johor has received for colouring his hair blonde is like water off a duck’s back because his hair is nobody’s business but his, he told a journalist yesterday.
Posting the question-and-answer session with the journalist on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim said he coloured his hair blonde for the fun of it and that he did not care what others had to say about it.
“It’s my hair. I just did it for fun. If tomorrow I choose to colour it blue or red or shave my head that’s my business.
“Plus it’s not going to be like this forever. It’s going to be black again soon, so I don’t care what people have to say. Only God can judge me.
He also shared some pearls of wisdom with critics, recounting his own father’s advice about butting out of other people’s affairs.
“My father used to say, the best business in the world is to mind your own business. I used to get upset when people say negative things about me, but now I’m not bothered.”
To prove his point, Tunku Ismail shared a “short story” of two individuals that had been reprimanded by the police for slandering the Johor royal family.
He said, “After I saw how these keyboard warriors looked like, I never got upset anymore as now I understand why these people have nothing better to do. I don’t blame them.
“No offence, but if I have a face like that, I will hate the whole world too,” he said snidely.
However choosing to be the bigger man, he added, “Anyways, I will pray that they will always be blessed by Allah S.W.T.
In a separate posting, Tunku Ismail announced that Johor, under the reign of Sultan Ibrahim was the only state in the country that had no outstanding debt to the Federal Government and even had a budget surplus of RM3 billion.
He added, “It has been achieved due to an efficient administration and tireless efforts to attract foreign investments to help improve Johor’s economy.
“As such, Johor has enjoyed sustained infrastructure development and various forms of aid, as well as ensuring the welfare and improving the living standards of people in the state.”
