TERRIFIED NAJIB OFFERED 'SECRET DEAL' TO FREE ANWAR IN BID TO STAVE OFF NO-CONFIDENCE VOTE?

TERRIFIED NAJIB OFFERED 'SECRET DEAL' TO FREE ANWAR IN BID TO STAVE OFF NO-CONFIDENCE VOTE?
Yesterday was the first day of Parliament sitting but the temperature was already extraordinary high.
Malaysians are supposed to see two things before the Christmas kicks in.
First, Prime Minister Najib Razak with allegations of corruption, money laundering and murder scandals stacked against him, is supposed to see (blind) defence from all his 132 MPs.
Second, the opposition – made up of DAP (37 MPs), PKR (29 MPs), PAN (6 MPs) – is supposed to see a united attack on Najib from all their 72 MPs.
Another 14 MPs from opposition PAS are expected to do nothing but wait for further instructions from big boss Hadi Awang.
The remaining 4 MPs are not expected to play any significant role.
That were what the public are expecting.
Opposition's disarray mysteriously worsens
But it seems while Najib’s Barisan National coalition has done a great job on the first day, the same cannot be said about the opposition.
Pakatan Harapan - Opposition New Pact
Day one saw two DAP MPs, Lim Lip Eng and Gobind Singh Deo, ejected by the bias Mr Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia.
PM Najib has demonstrated his cowardice once again, when he delegated his Deputy Finance Minister Chua Tee Yong to answer questions about GST collection.
Pandikar rushes to Najib's rescue
Mr. Speaker, as expected, came to Najib’s rescue when the House of Representatives rejected a question if the PM had received RM42 million in his private account.
Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia - Gold-plated Toilet
In fact, Mr. Speaker has rejected 7 questions related to RM42 billion 1MDB scandal.
Here’re some questions that we think he will block – the murder of Mongolian Altantuya, F.B.I investigation into 1MDB, Wall Street Journal reports about RM2.6 billion, China Ambassador’s visit to Petaling Street (Chinatown), decree by nine sultans and the list goes on (*grin*).
At the rate Mr. Speaker is throwing out any motion or question which could affect his boss Najib, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see why a no-confidence motion against the prime minister will not see the light of the day.
Najib still jittery despite BN gun power
Therefore, it’s false to say that PM Najib wasn’t afraid of such motion to sack him, as trumpeted by certain bloggers.
Najib Razak - Forbes Malaysia 27th Richest
If Najib wasn’t scared of a no-confidence motion, he should have instructed Mr. Speaker to allow it and put that as the first priority.
Before anything else, let the entire 222 MPs vote on the motion. If he wins, it will send the clearest signal to the world that he’s here to stay for good. At least, it will convince the financial markets that he enjoys majority support from the MPs.
Why was Guan Eng so petty?
But looking at how DAP and PKR are split on the matter, PM Najib has every reason to smile, and not to be scared any more.
Like two small kids fighting over who gets to take a first bite of a donut, both opposition parties couldn’t agree on who should submit a motion of no-confidence against Najib.
Heck, does it really matter who submits it as long as the PM can be booted?
Najib Razak Smile 3
Apparently, it does, according to DAP Lim Guan Eng’s logic.
It’s not carved in stone but due to its importance, such action should be done by Opposition leader, who happens to be jailed Anwar Ibrahim’s wife – Wan Azizah. It was like a football team captain who gets to be the first one who raises the trophy during the podium ceremony after a victory.
Fair enough, since it would be a symbolic victory if it succeeded, then Wan Azizah should do it, which she has agreed to do now.
But why didn’t Wan Azizah give such an important task a thought, or at least advised by other PKR’s advisers to do so in the first place? Was it true that PKR isn’t really serious about booting PM Najib out of office?
Is PKR really split, is there a secret deal in the works?
Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, PKR sec-gen Rafizi
The whole silly fiasco does smell a rat though. If it’s true that the 29 MPs from PKR are split about the motion, then Najib has even more reason to call for a snap federal election soonest possible. It seems PKR is not very sure about winning the same number of seats if an election is called, let alone increases it.
Was there a secret deal to extend a better treatment to imprisoned Anwar in exchange for letting Najib off the hook, for now?
Either way, the public perception is Wan Azizah has shown an extremely weak leadership for letting an unknown lawmaker Hee Loy Sian toying with an important mission such as filing a no-confidence motion. She should have played a pro-active instead of a reactive role.
Snap GE becoming more likely, Najib would rather destroy M'sia than give up power
Najib Razak and Rosmah Mansor - Thumb Down
Yes, it’s true that Mr. Speaker, who doubles as Najib Razak’s cheerleader, will do everything in his power to disallow a motion of no-confidence.
Still, the newly formed opposition pact – “Pakatan Harapan” – doesn’t seem to be able to convince 53% of 30 million Malaysians that they could bring a new hope to the country. Obviously, DAP-PKR-PAN pact is not united!
We wrote a piece yesterday and we would like to say again – Najib should seriously think about calling a snap federal election early next year. He should strike when the opposition is in disarray. On paper, DAP would most likely retain their 37 MPs, and could even increase some parliamentary seats in Johor.
PAS Hadi Awang and UMNO Najib Razak - Happy at Hospital
However, both PKR and even PAN could be crushed brutally.
The reason – badass PAS will play the role of votes splitter by engaging in three-corner fights in all BN-PKR-PAS and BN-PAN-PAS matches.
That’s the reason why PAS supremo Hadi Awang does not want to join UMNO, at least not now, as agreed in a secret deal with PM Najib Razak. - http://www.financetwitter.com/
