YOURSAY | ‘We want to know when your guts will be okay for you to speak up.’
Quigonbond: I didn't know our former attorney-general (AG) Abdul Gani Patail is such a teaser. He's saying health wasn't the reason for quitting, but he seems contented not to challenge his removal.
Quite puzzling indeed. One can perhaps surmise he received some kind of retirement benefit, yet not of a type or amount which is significant enough for him to butter up the PM.
Vijay47: Let us be blunt here, Abdul Gani, but you have a terribly black shameful track record as the AG, almost as evil as that of your erstwhile political masters.
The only support and sympathy you earned was achieved through your being unceremoniously sacked before you initiated some act which could have allowed you to regain a mite of respect.
Nevertheless, congratulations on your response at the forum on the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma). You have subtly and effectively hit back at that Nothing2Say gentleman who justified your sudden termination of service on the grounds that your health had rendered you incapacitated.
But why not go the whole hog, why not reveal all the infamous truths you laboured under? Surely you are not required to keep secret whatever was illegal to begin with?
Perhaps that service to the nation would restore some of your pride and the glory you could have acquired, especially since your successor is a lost cause. Finally, let me wish you good health with full and speedy recovery.
Hplooi: Abdul Gani is another wild card in the pack. Let’s see how the house bank will deal with this.
Anon888: Abdul Gani, I believe that you sincerely want to be a good Muslim. When the time comes for you to meet Almighty Allah SWT, He will not ask you how much riches you have accumulated in your lifetime.
Instead he will want to know how many people (including your family and descendants) you have helped in your lifetime and based on the truth of this fact which is available to him at all times he will either reward or punish you accordingly.
No one can escape from the fair judgements of the all-knowing Almighty Allah SWT. You said you still do ‘work - not in the office but to take care of your grandchildren’.
A question you need to answer truthfully and conscientiously is will you be happy and contented to allow your grandchildren and great, great grandchildren to grow up with the existing conditions in which Malaysia is and will be going through under the present regime for the next six to 10 generations.
Please think honestly and act accordingly for the sake of all your future generations.
Mushiro: Yes, we see you and we know your health is okay. We want to know when your guts will be okay for you to speak up.
Ferdtan: Abdul Gani, there is a saving grace if one were to repent now for his previous sins/mistakes before it is too late.
History will not judge you too unfairly if in your last lap of your life you begin to do the right thing.
You may have peace of mind if you were brave enough to come out to expose the 1MBD scandals and other ‘crimes’ committed under your watch (even the ones in which you were involved).
Gggg: Anyone asked about the non-appeal in the case of one alleged mastermind of the Mongolian murder case?
Anonymous_1401675508: Tan Sri, but why use Sosma against the ordinary public, who have been abused to the maximum.
Headhunter: Good laws become bad when they are in the wrong hands as in the current situation. Abdul Gani is very suspiciously guarded in his answers. Wonder why?
P Dev Anand Pillai: Well, Terence Netto, the clues given in your comment piece does dot the lines and a picture is slowly beginning to appear.
But we may need more clues before the picture becomes clearer.
Anonymous 2028781434694491: We can now confirm that our government had lied about Abdul Gani's removal from his AG office just one month before retirement.
It was an act of manipulation to hide the wrongdoings of someone in power.
Gggg: How about Jessica Gurmeet Kaur who, according to Malaysiakini, supposed to file an “explosive” affidavit in support of her judicial review bid (on why the authorities tried to terminate her work at the AG’s Chambers and revoke her permanent residency).
They all may have something to say but are keeping mum.
Donplaypuks: So, Najib and the new AG lied when they said Abdul Gani was sacked on medical grounds. Who will now sack Najib and Mohamed Apandi Ali? -Mkini
