GOODBYE KHUSRIN: New S'gor state secretary to be announced Jan 3

GOODBYE KHUSRIN: New S'gor state secretary to be announced Jan 3
SHAH ALAM - The new Selangor state secretary will only be announced next month, said Selangor Menteri Besar (MB) Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.
“We will make the announcement after Jan 3 and the swearing-in ceremony will take place on Jan 11.
“There are a few candidates and we have made a decision. The person selected is from Selangor,” he said when met at the Selangor State Secretariat building (SUK).
He was attending the farewell ceremony of former State Secretary Datuk Mohammad Khusrin Munawi who retired today.
Khusrin also declined to reveal who his replacement candidate was.
However, he did say that he hoped the existing relationship that was built could be maintained by his successor.
“I punched out at 5pm today. I would like to thank everyone for the cooperation given before this.
“I hope that whoever replaces me is able to carry on the good cooperation and the good relationship that now exist between the palace, executives, district officers and others. I hope they can continue to achieve the vision to become a smart state,” he said when met at the SUK lobby.
He said the Public Services Department (JPA) had listed nine suitable candidates to replace him, but the best two were selected.
The vacant seat will be filled on Jan 11 next year once the swearing-in ceremony is complete at Istana Bukit Kayangan.
Among the names frequently mentioned as Khusrin’s replacement are State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN) deputy director Nor Azmi Diron and State Financial officer Datuk Nordin Sulaiman.
However, the two names could not be confirmed to be in the running for the position.
Khusrin’s appointment on Jan 1, 2011 created controversy over claims that he was an Umno proxy in the Opposition-led state.
Former Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, who served at the time, had disagreed with Khusrin’s appointment, saying it was a political agenda. - Therakyatpost
