KLIA aerotrain glitch leaves passengers stranded

The Kuala Lumpur International Airport's (KLIA) aerotrain service encountered "technical problems" today, stranding passengers trying to transit between two of the airport's terminals.
The aerotrain connects KLIA's main terminal to its satellite terminal, and is normally the only link for passengers to travel between the two.
The disruption caused passengers to crowd around the aerotrain stations, said one passenger Said Rizal, 37, who touched-down from Dubai at 1.45pm today and found himself joining the crowd when he reached the station some 30 minutes later.
"I've just arrived and people were all stranded at the airport, trying to get to the main terminal.
"Nobody knew what happened and there wasn't any updates from Malaysian Airport Berhad (MAHB) staff, nothing. No announcements, nothing. Everybody was just left there," he told Malaysiakini when contacted.
He said there was neither information nor alternative transport coming through, and the situation around the station at the satellite terminal was packed and chaotic.
This was until one train started operating at about 3pm and he was able to leave shortly after.
Frustrated, he said MAHB should have provided the passengers with updates and alternative transport, and direct aircraft to park at the main terminal instead of the satellite terminal.
The main terminal serves mainly domestic flights, while the satellite terminal handles international flights.
Meanwhile on MAHB's Facebook page, the company said bus services have been arranged to ferry passengers around the airport.
"We apologise for the inconvenience caused. Our team is working towards the speedy rectification of the aerotrain," it said.
As at 6.30pm, it said one aerotrain was running.
"Looking forward to putting back those lovely smiles of fellow passengers," it said. -Mkini
