Tan Sri Zainuddin Maidin says PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang is bringing disrepute to the Islamist party by going against its principles and teaming up with 'immoral and unIslamic leaders'. – The Malaysian Insider pic, December 23, 2015.Datuk Seri Najib Razak must step down as prime minister and Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has to relinquish the presidency of PAS in order for Malays to successfully unite, former minister Tan Sri Zainuddin Maidin said.
Zainuddin, a former information minister, said both Najib and Hadi have lost their credibility and were not strong enough to be the foundation of unity between PAS and Umno, let alone to repair the dignity of the nation, religion and economy.
"Malays view the move between PAS and Umno to cooperate more for individual survival and not to fulfil the idealism and dreams of the people," he wrote in his blog "
Zam kata".
Zainuddin said thirst for power and hate has driven PAS towards Umno, bringing disrepute to the Islamist party by going against its principles and teaming up with "immoral and unIslamic leaders".
He cited as example the statement by PAS deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, who described Umno as “biawak" (lizard) yet did not see his own party as a "two-headed snake". – December 23, 2015.
