Stop whining and start working, MIC tells Kayveas

MyPPP president M Kayveas should stop griping against other BN component parties and work on ensuring a BN victory in the next general election, MIC central working committee member S Vell Paari said.
This comes after Kayveas claimed allocations for the Indian community were disbursed through the same group, who are not equitably distributing it at grassroots level.
Without mentioning names, Kayveas also complained that it is difficult even for him to set an appointment with ethnic Indian cabinet members to discuss community grouses.
“Should Kayveas insist on pursuing his current path of demonising BN component parties, then GE14 will not be an election which the Lim Guan Eng-led coalition will have to win, but an election that Kayveas decided to lose for the Najib-led BN,” Vell Paari said in a statement.
He was referring to DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, whom he said is leading the opposition party in incessant personal attacks against BN chief and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
Vell Paari added that Najib has been kind to myPPP, by allocating a deputy minister post for the party despite its poor performance in the 13th general election.
“Kayveas was appointed as adviser to the Transport Ministry with cabinet status, if I am not mistaken.
“So Kayveas should use the benefit given to this party by Najib to ensure BN victory and not demonise component members.
“If he is frustrated over something, then see Najib personally. Don’t vent it out publicly,” Vell Paari said.
Vell Paari was echoed by MIC Wanita chief M Mohana, who said Kayveas was putting up a “cheap act of seeking publicity”.
“There are indeed better ways to gain popularity,” she said in a statement.
She added that unlike Kayveas, MIC has “world-class leaders” who do not try to divert attention for the sake of political survival.
She said Kayveas’ sudden interest in allocation for the Indian community also begs the question of why the multiracial myPPP is portraying itself as an Indian champion.
“Does he even know that he is one of those politicians who has lost relevancy and touch with the public in general and now is trying to binge on the Indian community for political survival?” she asked. -Mkini
