YOURSAY | ‘This is news to me - that towkays who support DAP are given federal contracts.’
Given this privilege, we expect something special and intelligent to come out of the speakers.
Umno delegate Abdullah Mat Yassim, we don't want BRIM (Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia), we don't want the handouts, we don't want cheap political gifts with ‘I help you, you help me’ motives.
We want a corruption-free government, we want a real leader who works for the people (like the late Lee Kuan Yew), one who is fair and just to all Malaysians, one who does not play race and religion to get one’s support.
One who is transparent and allows the people to witness all government transactions openly. One who does not mislead or lie to the people. One who is democratic and does not use dictatorial methods to silence the opposition.
Sadly, we don't get such qualities from Umno leaders.
Anonymous #19098644: The rakyat hope that Abdullah Mat Yassim and his gang get their wish - to die for PM Najib Abdul Razak.
They have looted the nation and now this nincompoop is telling civil servants that they should abuse their administrative positions to deny Malaysians with a different political perspective from enjoying their constitutional rights.
Victor Johan: These business owners and DAP supporters pay their income taxes, and many other taxes that have been implemented at the whims and fancies of the federal government.
All rakyat have claims to the revenues received by the government, and thus can't be denied a share of the economic wealth of the nation.
The nation can't be administered for the benefits of only Umno Malays and their leaders.
Thinking Citizen_1403620863: Awarding projects to Umno cronies is like paying RM100 for something worth RM20 and yet they are not able to complete the project - and if they do, it is full of defects.
There are projects awarded to Malay companies (not Umno cronies) in Penang, and they have performed well. These are the ones who get the majority of the projects.
The Penang chief minister's assistants who are Malays (not Umno cronies) manage places like Seberang Prai very well. The sole PAS Malay representative has performed his responsibilities well and as such he was not removed from his post.
It is never about being a Malay doing business or being put in a position of responsibility. It is about Umno Malays who think that being Malay means that they are entitled to projects without taking into consideration whether they have the capability to do it.
Anonymous 109681439536914: This is news to me - that towkays who support DAP are given federal contracts.
I was under the clear understanding that all contracts, especially the big ones, are reserved for Umno Baru cronies, families, friends, etc.
Yahoo: It's the duty of the ruling government to provide aid to the needful, be it scholarships or assistance to flood and disaster victims, welfare, children's/old folks homes, etc.
It's, after all, taxpayers’ money. It's the citizens right to receive aid from the government in times of need.
Whoever becomes the ruling government, they will have to do the same, not only BN.
Relevancy: Since when has this country become known as Umnosia?
Pemerhati: Umno delegates like Abdullah Mat Yassim, who go out of their way to ‘ampu’ Najib, know that ‘ampuing’ costs nothing but it could result in them getting some ‘contribution’ from Najib’s cash hoard of RM2.6 billion or some other type of reward.
They are not outraged by the massive drain of the people’s money by Najib and the other top Umno leaders because they too eventually hope to reach the top level in Umno and have their turn at getting the people’s money.
Mushiro: Jho Low is a towkay who does not support DAP. Najib and his wife, Rosmah Mansor, have been super generous, allegedly giving him access to billions.
Anonymous 117651438093233: It’s time to enact and implement a political financing law. Najib had supported such an Act to control money politics, the mother of all corruption.
The opposition has reservations on a political financing law as it has concerns disclosing the detils of donors who support the opposition.
Anonymous #03815719: Hello, China Railway was awarded the electrified double-tracking project from Gemas to Johor Bahru, costing around RM7.3 billion.
Doc: Local Chinese towkays cannot be given big projects by the Umno government. But mainland Chinese are given big contracts.
For example, the Gemas-Johor Baru double-tracking project, the sale of 1MDB power unit (Edra Global Energy) to state-owned China General Nuclear (CGN), etc. -Mkini
