New clashes shake Yemen as peace talks fail miserably
no major breakthrough, repeated ceasefire violations.
negotiations have basically failed
"We have not achieved any results," Hadi's delegation.
conflict escalated dramatically since Saudi air strikes began in March
Coalition forces on Sunday attacked rebel positions in northern province
coalition attacked rebel positions in southern Shabwa province
failed to retake oil-rich Usaylan region from Huthis
Saudi said missile fired from Yemen Sat struck Najran, killing three
68 killed Thursday near northern town of Haradh
UN "deeply concerned at the numerous reports of violations
My comments : I doubt the UN's sincerity in Yemen.
The Saudis launched their air attack in March 2015 and the UN did not say anything.
After nine months the Saudis are getting their butts kicked by the Houthis in Yemen and we suddenly see the UN making statements about a ceasefire.
The ceasfire was announced unilaterally by the Saudis.
However the Houthis did agree to talks.
But the Saudis and their allies carried out numerous violations of their own unilateral ceasefire.
Folks, these are kniving, scheming Arab tribals. They understand each other very well.
The Saudis are facing serious problems. The Houthi counter attack is still occupying Saudi territory.
The Saudi airforce with F15s and F16s has not been able to chase the Houthis out of Saudi territory.
The Saudi Army has not been able to chase the Houthis out either.
The Saudis want "Islamic" countries like Sudan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Malaysia etc to send troops "to defend the Haramain (the two holy cities).
Lets not get suckered by religious rhetoric.
This is a serious Saudi misadventure.
