Former premier Najib Abdul Razak has been discharged from the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) and is back in prison.
Najib was taken to the hospital on Nov 3 after reportedly suffering a fever.
Initially, his aide Muhammad Mukhlis Maghribi said that Najib had contracted Covid-19.
However, in a statement today he said that a test run by HKL on admission found that the former prime minister was negative for the disease.
The hospital, nonetheless, kept Najib warded for observation.
"After the doctors did a final check today, Najib was allowed to return to Kajang prison," Mukhlis said.
Najib is serving a 12-year jail sentence at the Kajang prison.
He was found guilty of corruption, criminal breach of trust and money laundering involving RM42 million from state-owned SRC International Sdn Bhd. - Mkini
