PETALING JAYA: The girl kidnapped in Johor last Saturday and rescued by police in Selangor this morning has been discharged from Selayang Hospital.
A source close to the matter said Albertine Leo, six, was sent to the hospital this morning for a medical check-up.
the source said.She underwent a physical and mental examination at the hospital and was discharged around 2pm, escorted by police,
It is learned that she was immediately taken back to Johor.
FMT has attempted to contact police and her mother Leo Qieo Xin for confirmation.
In a press conference this morning, Johor police chief M Kumar said Albertine was found at 4am today with a 31-year-old local man at a budget hotel in Batang Kali.
The suspect has been brought to Johor to facilitate police investigation.
Police are probing the case under Section 365 of the Penal Code for kidnapping or abducting with the intent of secretly and wrongfully confining a person, which provides for imprisonment for up to seven years and a fine.
The case is also being probed under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 for touching a child’s body for a sexual purpose, which provides for imprisonment of no more than 20 years and whipping.
Albertine was reported missing during the Bon Odori event at Eco Galleria in Iskandar Puteri.
The incident reportedly took place while her mother was selling drinks at the festival. - FMT
