
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds affecting six states and Labuan until 1am tomorrow.
In a statement, MetMalaysia said in Penang, the Southwest and Northeast districts are expected to be affected, while in Perak, the areas involved include Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim.
In Terengganu, Kuala Nerus and Kemaman are expected to be affected, while in Pahang similar conditions are forecast for Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub and Kuantan.
A similar warning has also been issued for Sarawak, covering Sri Aman (Lubok Antu), Betong (Saratok and Kabong), Sarikei (Sarikei and Meradong), Sibu (Sibu and Kanowit), Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro and Matu), Kapit, Bintulu (Tatau), Miri (Subis and Miri) and Limbang.
In Sabah, the warning covers interior areas of Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Nabawan and Keningau, as well as the west coast district of Papar. - NST
