“Tabung Haji name should change to Tabung Hadi for better management,” said parody portal

 

WITH the Tabung Haji scandal being discussed at the highest level, expect a good deal of blame shifting and politicking to happen too.

While it is all fun and games to turn the opposition into a scapegoat, Malaysians ultimately want a solution to the problem, because blaming or avoidance is cheap.

But in the meantime, why can’t we have a sad laugh over our bleak future? Sometimes, all it takes for us to overcome a challenge is to make light of a bad situation.

And there is no one better for this job than parody  news portal Harakakdaily with its latest hilarious post.

Harakakdaily in the post claimed that PAS wanted to change the name of Tabung Haji to Tabung Hadi to ensure the safety and security of the deposits.

“Have you heard of Tabung Hadi Awang being misappropriated?” it sarcastically asked.

Netizens have much to say about this parody suggestion too.

Take it from @xiaoyang29 who thinks it is not a good idea as all the savings in Tabung Hadi will be used to pay for the defamation suits.

“A solid suggestion, but the problem is that the workers won’t come into the office, like how his boss doesn’t go to the Parliament,” pointed out @v_anarchy.

Then there was a hard-hitting comment from @ManBigong, no doubt inspired by the topic at hand.

Also, a sceptical @akistone believes if PAS would be in charge of Tabung Haji, it would soon transform into Tabung Milo.

This is a jab at the fund collection system by PAS where its members fondly contribute by putting money into Milo tins.

On another note, AMANAH Secretary-General Faiz Fadzil said UMNO-PAS had not issued any joint statement condemning the misconduct highlighted in the Royal Commission of Inquiry report on Tabung Haji. 

Ironically, he said, the call for Muslim unity only surfaced during elections, while the two parties were constantly at loggerheads over power and positions, as was evident when PN was in government in 2020.

According to him, the president of PAS president should take a stand on the scandal that occurred within Tabung Haji, rather than diverting the issue towards Muslim unity by stoking hatred against DAP to cover up the misconduct that took place during the previous UMNO administration.— Focus Malaysia
