The Syariah Court has notified the date of mention on JAWI vs Nik Raina will be on 7th August 2012, at the request made by JAWI to bring the matter forward purportedly for the purpose of "memberi klarifikasi kepada pihak media dan blogger" (to give clarification to the medias and bloggers).
JAWI on the other hand is trying to use this "media circus" purpose of "clarifying" for this early date but flatly refusing to ignoring that a earlier trial date will circumvent the hearing of the Stay application of the Civil High Court on 30th July 2012, which all parties have agreed until the Judicial Review hearing fixed on 5th September 2012.
Just look how cunning and oppressive JAWI appears to be, to charge a "innocent" Malay lady for criminal charges at the Syariah Court. Nik Raina works as a Store Manager and has no authority whatsoever in the purchase or sale of books at a Borders Book Store. The books referred were actually not banned while the raid was conducted. The ban from the Home Ministry came much later. What crime has this "innocent" Store Manager done?
JAWI at the same time does not practice a simple magnanimous act of compassion for the "innocent" Malay Store Manager and does not want to admit for having done a wrong act by raiding and confiscating non-banned books.
