ALOR GAJAH- With a promise that the Barisan Nasional Government's transformation agenda has yet to see the greatest change for the benefit of the people, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak called the people to make the right decision when the time comes.Najib said that the people of Malaysia, now, have a choice in their hands, to opt for a change or to see a continuity in the transformation agenda of the government.
“Two days ago we saw the people of the United States having picked a continuity over change and placed their trust in re-electing (Barrack) Obama as their President.
“They had a option in their hands – to choose between a change or a continuity and they voted to a continuity. “I believe that this is the right decision made by the people of the United States,” he said.
Having made his point, Najib they asked the people of Malaysia if they wanted a continuity under the Barisan Nasional Government this ensuring a 'transformation continuity' or a change which would bring them and the country to an uncertainty.
Najib said this at the launch of the country's third RTC at the Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority (LKIM) Complex in Kuala Linggi, Masjid Tanah, near here, yesterday.
The RTC is a one-stop centre for the benefit of nearby villages to undertake high value-added activities. The villagers can sell their agricultural produce; purchase consumer supplies and services at low prices; acquire skills and get trained in entrepreneur development programs; obtain financial assistance and other services directly; and exchange information and knowledge.
The aim of setting up the RTCs is to enhance the quality of life in the rural areas in an integrated manner through the cooperation of various government agencies and the private sector, thus intensifying the economic activities of the rural entrepreneurs and enable them raise their income.
The country's first RTC was opened in Gopeng, Perak, on Feb 18 and the second in Kota Baharu, Kelantan, on May 4. The Kuala Linggi RTC, saw the upgrading and renovation works on the LKIM Complex involving a cost of RM4.6 million.
