A group of activists participating in the anti-Lynas green walk confronted a Special Branch (SB) officer during their stay in Bentong, Pahang on Tuesday night.
According to campaign spokesperson Wong Chun Yuan, the incident happened when the green walk team members spotted two SB officers recording them at a Catholic school, where the team was staying overnight.
When contacted yesterday, he told Malaysiakini that about ten members had then surrounded the two policemen, though one of them managed to slip away.
"We had some 'exchange' for about 15 minutes, (where) he admitted that he is from the SB but refused to delete the photos," Wong said.
"We have no problem with the SB taking our photographs during our march, but do not break into the our rest area without our permission.
"Moreover, they were just recording downstairs, at a room where our female members were taking a rest".
Wong added that they did not force the police officer to delete the photos.

However, they warned him that he will not be let off easily if he gets caught again the next time.
Singer and mum join march
On Monday, the anti-Lynas rare earths refinery plant protesters had claimed they had spotted a group of SB police officers tailing them throughout their journey.
The 300km green march started on Nov 13 from Kuantan and protesters are expected to reach Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
They will camp there for the night and wait for Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and MPs to meet them there the next morning.
During the walk yesterday, veteran singer Yudi Yap (right) was seen by participants joining the team, alongside two kids.
Yap has been campaigning against the rare earth project and had once organised a fund raising concert for the campaign, together with other local singers.
Also spied was Lu Xiao Fen, a young mother from Bentong, seen carrying her year-old baby during the march.
According to participants who had accompanied her, Lu with baby in her arms had walked about 5km before handing him over to family members and carrying on with her journey.
