The Selangor state government has drafted a five-year action plan to lift the socio-economic status of the people of Selangor and to ensure a living standard reflective of a developed state.
"The five-year action plan is based on the measures proposed in the Pakatan Rakyat Selangor’s manifesto for the 13th General Election which were recently discussed and debated at public engagement sessions across all twelve local authorities in Selangor," said Selangor MB, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim in a statement Sept 20.
"The exco among others resolved to continue efforts to finalise the water industry restructuring and distribution of water shares to the people of Selangor," he said.
It (the exco) also plans to implement the new affordable quality home (AQH) policy through a new “semi autonomous” unit within Lembaga Perumahan And Hartanah Selangor and also to enhance enhance the state-funded community policing programme, he continued.
"We managed to come up with an implementable action plan with the list of programmes or measures to be carried out in the short, medium and long term.
"The implementation will not be easy but I am confident that we will all work hard to make sure that rakyat will eventually be the biggest beneficiaries from the action plan," he added.
According to the Khalid, "the Selangor state government is committed to managing state assests and resources in trust for the people in particular to help the marginalised and less privileged in line with the agenda of “Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor”.
