Utusan offers public apology to DAP's father and son duo
Utusan Malaysia has offered to publicly apologise to DAP's Lim Kit Siang and his son Guan Eng respectively over an article published on Sept 7.
In the article titled "Cuba Sembunyi Kebiadapan DAP", (trying to hide DAP's rudeness), the paper quoted Umno supreme council member Puad Zakarshi as saying that 'Tanda Putera' was banned in Penang because DAP was afraid of a scene which allegedly depicted a DAP leader urinating at the then-Selangor menteri besar's official residence.
The apology offer was in response to a letter of demand sent by Karpal Singh, Kit Siang and Guan Eng's lawyer to Utusan.
Guan Eng, the Penang chief minister, had asked theatres in the state not to screen 'Tanda Putera' as he expressed concerns about the racially sensitive scenes in the film.
